Details of Disappearance
Yamile and her half-sister, Viridiana Urias, disappeared from Shafter, California on September 6, 2005. They were abducted by Hugo Garcia Aguilar. A photograph and vital statistics for Hugo are posted below this case summary. He is Yamile's father and Viridiana's stepfather. A felony warrant was issued for his arrest on September 7, 2005.The middle sister in the family, fourteen-year-old Yadira Urias, was left behind. She stated Hugo dropped them off at school that day, which was unusual, but she didn't suspect anything was wrong. Yadira didn't find out her sisters were missing until after school when her mother, Luz Espinoza, came to get her. Espinoza had gone home to pick something up and discovered that Hugo, Viridiana and Yamile were missing and so were all their clothes.
Hugo, Yamile and Viridiana may be traveling in a gray 1987 Pontiac Grand Am with the California license plate number 2ESZ563. They may be in Mexico. The children's whereabouts remain unknown and their cases are unsolved.Her case remains unsolved.
