    Details of Disappearance

Akram was last seen in Silver Spring, Maryland on June 12, 2004. He has never been heard from again. He is originally from Pakistan and was visited the United States as part of a global youth cultural exchange program about a year before his disappearance. Akram lived in South Dakota and attended high school there. At the end of the school year, the cultural exchange agency brought Akram and some other students to Washington, D. C. for a visit. They were scheduled to return to their home countries afterwards.

During his Washington D. C. trip, Akram was staying in at a Holiday Inn in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. He was last seen during the evening hours of June 12, when he left the hotel to eat at the City Place Mall. Arkam is believed to have left of his own accord. He may still be in the local area, or he may have returned to Pakistan. His case remains unsolved.
