Albarran and a friend went to a club called Pure Gold in 300 block of North Harrison Avenue in Cary, North Carolina on the night of his disappearance. They left Pure Gold shortly before midnight, whereupon Albarran's friend was arrested by the police for driving while impaired. Albarran returned to Pure Gold afterwards. His friend contacted him several times that evening by cellular phone. Their last call was interrupted when a man claiming to be with Albarran told the friend not to call back. Then the phone went dead and Albarran has never been heard from again. He was reported missing by his brother on March 13, three days later.

Albarran's case remains unsolved; the circumstances surrounding his disapperance are unclear.
