Ardon was last seen on November 14, 2006 at his residence in the 1400 block of Russelville, Alabama. His wife and mother told police that one or two unidentified men dressed in all black clothing came to their house, abducted him at gunpoint, and drove away with him in a small black car. He has never been heard from again.

In July 2006, four months prior to his disappearance, Ardon was arrested and charged with rape. He allegedly raped the victim, a sixteen-year-old girl, on two separate occasions. He was free on bond when his abduction was reported in November. In March 2007, a grand jury formally indicted Ardon on the rape charges. Authorities stated they believed he was hiding in the Los Angeles, California area and his reported abduction was staged.

Ardon will remain classified as a missing person until his whereabouts and well-being are established.
