Details of Disappearance
Bates was last seen at approximately 1:00 p.m. on June 29, 2004 in the vicinity of the 1700 block of Butternut Street in Abilene, Texas. He may have been carrying a backpack at the time. He has never been heard from again. Bates may be in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. Few details are available in his case. Some agencies give the date of his disappearance as April 29, 2004.
