Blake purchased a one-way ticket to Miami, Florida at a Greyhound bus station in the 100 block of south Weber in Colorado Springs, Colorado on November 27, 2007. She had one suitcase with her at the time. She was supposed to return home on December 11, 2007.

Blake traveled from Colorado Springs to Denver, Colorado, where she changed buses and turned in one coupon to go to St. Louis, Missouri, where she would have to change buses again. She arrived in St. Louis, on November 28 at 11:50 a.m. and was scheduled to leave the city on another bus at 2:00 p.m.; however, the bus driver did not receive a coupon from her ticket book for that transfer, no other coupons from her ticket book were used for the remainder of the journey, and her luggage also disappeared with her. She was supposed to change buses twice more, in Nashville, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia, before arriving in Florida. She has never been heard from again.

Blake left behind an eighteen-year-old son. He stated his mother enjoyed traveling and frequently took spontaneous vacations, but she always returned on schedule and always kept in touch with her family. None of her loved ones have heard from her since her disappearance, and there has been no activity on her bank accounts, phone records or credit cards. Her case remains unsolved.
