    Details of Disappearance

Chocknok was last seen on July 21, 2000. He was walking around the New Stuyahok Airport at the time of his disappearance. He said he was going to visit Dillingham, 43 air miles away, but he did not board any flights of the airport. He has never been heard from again.

Investigators have theorized that, due to Chocknok's senility, he may have tried to walk to Dillingham and ran into trouble along the way; he was possibly was attacked by a bear, or fell into the Nushagak River. Searches of the area turned up no indications as to Chocknok's whereabouts, however.
