Details of Disappearance
Comiskey was last seen near a friend's residence in the vicinity of County Road 355 between Battlement Mesa and Parachute in Parachute, Colorado on December 17, 2005. She and her older half-sister, Michelle Loudy, drove a white minivan to the home to pick up their friend, but her boyfriend asked them to come back later. Loudy left Comiskey sitting in the van while she went inside the residence. When she returned between three and fifteen minutes later, Comiskey was gone. Loudy assumed she had started walking back to her own home to be picked up by her live-in boyfriend, Bill Sonnier, who was also en route to the County Road 355 residence. Sonnier arrived ten minutes later, and he didn't have Comiskey with him and said he hadn't seen her. She has never been heard from again.A few days after her disappearance, searchers found Comiskey's jean jacket several miles away in an apple orchard twenty yards off County Road 309. A syringe was nearby. Comiskey's loved ones stated she never went anywhere in the winter without the jacket, which had been given to her by a friend who had died. There was a snowstorm in the area at the time she went missing, and the jacket was found lying on top of fresh snow. Comiskey got involved with a group of drug users prior to her disappearance and her behavior and appearance changed dramatically. Loudy was one of them and said they were all addicted to methamphetamine. Sonnier, who was twenty years older than Comiskey, was later jailed on drug charges.
Authorities stated there is no evidence of foul play in Comiskey's case, but it's uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning and her family believes she was murdered. She left behind two young children. Her case remains unsolved.
