Missing Since: February 11, 1998 from Omaha, Nebraska Classification: Endangered Missing Date of Birth: September 15, 1961 Age: 36 years old Height and Weight: 5'10 - 5'11, 140 pounds Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Brown hair, blue eyes. Conaway had a mustache and goatee at the time of his 1998 disappearance. His nickname is Steve. Clothing/Jewelry Description: A collared vertically-striped white long-sleeved button-down shirt and tan pants. Medical Conditions: Conaway is a diabetic and insulin-dependent.
Details of Disappearance
Conaway was last seen between 10:00 and 10:30 p.m. at a bar, Buffalo Joe's Food & Spirits on February 11, 1998. The bar is located near Rosenblatt Stadium in downtown Omaha. Conaway had gone there with a friend and had a few beers. He seemed to be in good spirits at the time. He departed Buffalo Joe's driving his gold four-door 1989 Ford Taurus, which has Iowa license plates numbered 977-CLN. The vehicle is also missing.Farnerbocken, a distributing company where Conaway worked as a sales representative, reported him missing after he failed to appear for work. Conaway's family say it is uncharacteristic of him to leave without warning; they are baffled by his disappearance. They reported him missing three days after he was last seen.
The police have not filed a missing persons report for Conaway because they do not suspect foul play was involved in his disappearance. They have an attempt-to-locate on file for him instead.
