Dauberman was last seen in Spotsylvania, Virginia sometime during the autumn months of 1995. He has never been heard from again. He wasn't reported missing until October 2003, approximately twelve years after he vanished. When authorities questioned his family, they received several conflicting accounts as to what might have happened to him. They searched Dauberman's last known address and found no evidence of his whereabouts. Several of Dauberman's relatives were convicted of federal charges and imprisoned after his disappearance was reported, and his home later was the site of an arson.

There has been no activity on Dauberman's financial accounts or his Veteran's Administration accounts since his disappearance. His case remains unsolved.
