Missing Since: July 17, 2007 from El Dorado, Arkansas Classification: Endangered Missing Age: 54 years old Height and Weight: 5'10, 160 pounds Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Brown hair, hazel eyes. Eakin wears eyeglasses. Clothing/Jewelry Description: A red windbreaker-type jacket with the St. Louis Cardinals logo, blue jeans, white sneakers, a St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap and possibly rosary beads. Medical Conditions: Eakin may have been suicidal at the time of his disappearance.
Details of Disappearance
Eakin was last seen in El Dorado, Arkansas on July 17, 2007. He was carrying a yellow backpack at the time of his disappearance. He told his sister he was going camping in the Ouachita National Forest, left in his 1991 Ford Ranger pickup truck, and has never been seen again. Eakin's sister found a goodbye letter from him that day, which instructed her on what to do with his belongings. The letter also had a map showing the proposed campsite. After his disappearance, Eakin's truck was found abandoned on Fire Road 132 in Perry County, Arkansas.Prior to his disappearance, Eakin had made comments about taking his own life. The circumstances of his disappearance are unclear and his case remains unsolved.
