    Details of Disappearance

Sarah disappeared from Winchester, Kentucky sometime during January 1987. Her husband, Mitchell Scott Estes, was wanted for murder, and Sarah went with him when he fled to avoid arrest. In late 1987 or early 1988, Sarah and Mitchell were seen by relatives in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. They boarded a Greyhound bus for an unknown destination. Sarah has never been heard from again and her husband remains at large.

Photographs of Mitchell are unavailable. He's described as Caucasian, 5'9 and 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was approximately 33 years old in 1987. There were rumors that Mitchell murdered Sarah in Florida and dismembered and burned her body, but none of the stories could be verified and her remains have never been found. Her disappearance remains unsolved. Her family describes her as a quiet, naive woman. She left behind a young daughter.
