Details of Disappearance
Fafard was last seen in Toledo, Ohio on July 1, 1995. She lived with her husband in the 900 block of Crissey Road. Fafard's life at the time of her disappearance was deeply troubled. Both she and her husband were unemployed and had very little money. Fafard had given birth to four sons, but all of them were taken from her due to her drug abuse. She did maintain regular contact with them in their foster homes. In December 1994, when she gave birth for the last time, doctors believed she was suffering from cervical cancer and advised her to seek treatment. She never did. She and her husband frequently had violent arguments with police involvement, and she had reportedly turned to prostitution to support her drug habit.Fafard's mother reported her missing on July 18. When questioned by police, Fafard's husband said she'd walked out of their home after a verbal argument. He said she took no purse or other belongings with her and hadn't been wearing shoes. Fafard's husband said she had left before for weeks at a time and that's why he didn't report her disappearance.
Fafard had attended Northwood High School, but dropped out in her sophomore year. Her case remains unsolved and foul play is suspected.
