Fout was last seen outside her residence at the Loranger Mobile Park on north Charles Avenue in Loranger, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. on August 4, 2009. She left behind her boyfriend and three children.

Police believe Alvin J. Gonzalez Jr. was involved in Fout's disappearance; he admitted he picked her up at her home on the day of her disappearance and was the last person to see her. In October 2010, authorities issued a warrant for his arrest for obstruction of justice in Fout's case. He is presently jailed on unrelated charges. Investigators stated they had reason to believe Fout is alive and well; she reportedly had contact with local residents on several occasions after her disappearance. They would still like to locate her and verify her well-being, however. Her case remains unsolved.
