Details of Disappearance
Garcia was last seen in Naucalpan, Mexico on September 6, 2003. She is believed to have been abducted by her non-custodial mother, Bertha Lucia Maldonado de Garcia-Rojas. Photographs of Maldonado de Garcia-Rojas are unavailable. She is described as a brown-haired, green-eyed Hispanic female, 5'2 tall and 119 pounds. Her date of birth is December 13, 1962; she was forty years old in 2003. She may use the aliases Bertha Garcia, Bertha Rojas, Bertha Roa, and/or Bertha Maldonado Roa.Garcia and Maldonado de Garcia-Rojas may be living in New Mexico or Michigan in the United States, or in Canada. Garcia's father has applied for her return to the Mexico under the terms of the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, an international treaty which Mexico and the U. S. both signed. She has not been recovered, however, and her case is unsolved.
