Garrison was last seen leaving the home he shared with his parents on Box Iron Road in Crisfield, Maryland on May 31, 2002. He told his mother he would be right back, but never returned. She at first assumed he had gone to a relative's home, but after days passed with no word from him, she contacted police. Their investigation has been futile, however; Garrison has never been heard from again.

Garrison did not have a car at the time of his disappearance, and he was unemployed. His loved ones stated he was not taking any medications in May 2002. He was active in the local drug trade, but had been trying to change his lifestyle prior to his disappearance. His family suspects foul play was involved in his disappearance, which remains unsolved.
