Glaze was last seen at the Brevard Music Center in Transylvania County, North Carolina on March 19, 1996. The music center is close to her family's former home, which she'd mentioned she wanted to visit. She has never been heard from again. A five-day search of the area produced no evidence as to her whereabouts. Authorities initially believed Glaze became disoriented and wandered away from the building, but an anonymous letter was received by law enforcement in 2000 that led to a resumed search. Nothing was located during the most recent attempt.

Glaze was well-known in the local community and very close to her family prior to her disappearance. None of her loved ones have heard from her since 1996. Investigators announced that an unidentified man confessed to her murder in March 2002. They have not filed charges against the individual due to a lack of evidence. Glaze's case remains unsolved and foul play is suspected.
