Missing Since: February 18, 2006 from Pemberton Township, New Jersey Classification: Endangered Missing Date of Birth: February 17, 1970 Age: 36 years old Height and Weight: 5'4 - 5'5, 90 - 100 pounds Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian female. Brown hair, blue eyes. Grater wears eyeglasses or contact lenses, but she left both of them behind. At the time of her disappearance, her hair was cut shoulder-length in the back and feathered at the top and sides. Her ears are pierced one time each and she has a Caesarean section scar extending from hip to hip and from her navel down to her pelvis. Clothing/Jewelry Description: Possibly a fourteen-karat gold cross necklace. Clothing unknown, but she usually wears sneakers, particularly the brands Nike, Adidas, Reebok and New Balance. Medical Conditions: Grater was addicted to drugs at the time of her disappearance. She takes methadone and other medications. She previously suffered from anorexia nervosa for an extended period and may have skeletal damage, such as osteoporosis, as a result.
Details of Disappearance
Grater on the morning of February 18, 2006, the day after her thirty-sixth birthday, at her residence in Pemberton Township, New Jersey. She told her father, whom she lived with, that she was going to ride her orange bicycle to the Wawa convenience store on Lakehurst Road in the Country Lakes section of the township. Grater never returned home and has never been heard from again. She was not reported missing until March.Although there is no hard evidence of foul play in Grater's case, authorities consider her disappearance suspicious. She was scheduled to enter a drug rehabilitation center the day after her disappearance, and had packed her belongings. She left behind her cellular phone, wallet, clothes and credit cards, taking only her bicycle. There's been no activity on her bank account since she was last seen. She has gone missing before, but never for this long, and it's uncharacteristic of her to abandon her teenage daughter. Her case remains unsolved.
