Graupe was last seen at the corner south Sixth Street and west Main Street in Austin, Indiana on November 24, 2009. He was en route to work at the Morgan Food Plant, but he planned to stop on the way to collect some money a friend owed him. His friend stated he did stop by that day, then left. He never arrived at work and has never been heard from again.

Graupe does not drive; he walks places, or his brothers drive him. It's uncharacteristic of him to leave without warning. His case remains unsolved. His family believes he was the victim of a homicide, but little information is available in his disappearance.
