Hansen was last seen leaving Marquip Inc. in Phillips, Wisconsin, at the end of her shift at approximately 8:00 p.m. on November 12, 1987. She worked several part-time jobs, one of which was at Marquip has never been heard from again. She was reported missing five days later after she did not report to work at one of her other jobs at the IGA grocery store in Phillips.

Hansen's vehicle was found parked at the Lake 10 Tavern, eleven miles south of Phillips, after her disappearance. A photo of the vehicle is posted below this case summary. Investigators said they had persons of interest in Hansen's disappearance, but they haven't publicly named any of these individuals. Foul play is suspected in her case, which remains unsolved.
