    Details of Disappearance

Heitger was last seen in Morris Plains, New Jersey on May 19, 1994, her thirty-seventh birthday. She was a patient at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital at the time; she been ordered there by a court after she stabbed someone. She left the hospital on the day of her disappearance and has never been heard from again.

Heitger had run away from the facility before, but she had always reappeared within a short time. She would either go to her parents' home or call them ask her to pick her up. Her parents had planned to visit the hospital on the day of her disappearance to celebrate her birthday. Little evidence is available as to her fate; her case remains unsolved.
