Inhoffe was last seen at the Tulsa Teacher's Credit Union on Pine Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma on the morning of May 26, 2009. He cashed a check there and left. He has never been heard from again. He was a transient at the time of his disappearance and frequented the downtown area, sometimes staying in homeless shelters. Since his disappearance, Inhoffe hasn't picked up his mail or cashed any of the checks his family sent him.

Inhoffe's family stated he was on disability benefits because of a seizure condition. His parents got his check, then mailed him some of the money every week. Until March 2009, he lived in a trailer on north Birmingham Street, but he had to leave when the trailer caught fire. His parents planned to help him clear the land and erect a manufactured home there, and he was excited about it. His case remains unsolved.
