Details of Disappearance
Saxon disappeared from Round Rock, Texas on July 7, 2009. Her father, Omar Samir Kawar, picked her up for a scheduled summertime visitation period on July 1. On July 7, Omar, Saxon, and Omar's wife, Brandi Denise Dougherty Kawar, left the United States and flew to Amman, Jordan. He never returned her. A felony warrant for international parental kidnapping was issued for Omar on July 23, 2009. Photographs and vital statistics for Omar and Brandi are posted below this case summary.Omar was facing four felony counts of identity theft in 2009. He left the country the day before his trial was to begin. Saxon's custodial mother stated he emailed her shortly after he arrived in Jordan and said he would not return Saxon unless all criminal charges against him were dropped. Saxon's mother describes Omar as narcissistic and chronically dishonest, and she stated a psychiatrist close to the case believed Omar suffers from bipolar disorder and narcissistics personality disorder.
Omar and Brandi are living openly in Jordan with Saxon. All her mother's attempts to get her returned to the United States have thus far been in vain. Her case remains unsolved.
