    Details of Disappearance

Lepkofker was last seen in the area of 5th Street in the New York City borough of Brooklyn on May 8, 1997. She and her live-in boyfriend were packing to go on a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada and had an argument. She left their apartment with her luggage and never returned.

Authorities presumed Lepkofker was probably deceased, possibly as a result of foul play or suicide, but there was a possible sighting of her in November 2005. An employee of a Clear Channel Radio station in Denver, Colorado believes he spoke to Lepkofker at the station. The woman told him her name was Sara and she was Jewish, had been born and raised in Brooklyn, wanted to go to Israel, and had problems with her family and financial problems. She had a strong Brooklyn accent. The woman wanted to speak to the radio show host, but the employee refused to let her do so, as she seemed paranoid and evasive and was acting erratically. After she left, he was concerned for her safety so he went online and looked at missing persons' websites in an attempt to identify her. He found Lepkofker's picture and decided this may have been the woman he spoke with.

The employee provided police with surveillance video footage of the woman he spoke to. Authorities stated she stongly resembles Lepkofker, who is Jewish and from Brooklyn and wanted to go to Israel, just like the woman stated. However, the woman never returned the radio station and has not been conclusively identified as Lepkofker.

Lepkofker would now be old enough to collect her retirement funds. If she is still alive, she may be suffering from mental health issues and be in need of medical and psychological attention. Her case remains unsolved.
