Details of Disappearance
McEntire was last seen leaving his residence in Polk Township, Pennsylvania on October 8, 2005. He was carrying a shotgun at the time. He has never been heard from again. McEntire's van was later found in the parking lot of his business a few miles away on State Route 209 in Chestnuthill, Pennsylvania. The keys were locked inside it, stuck in the ignition. Since McEntire went missing, he hasn't accessed his bank account, paid any bills or gotten a driver's license anywhere in the United States. In February 2010, Edwin James "Beans" Kelly was arrested and charged with McEntire's murder. A photo of him is posted below this case summary. Authorities believe Kelly and two other men beat, kicked and shot McEntire to death at Kelly's home on Rainbow Lakes Drive in Rainbow Lakes Township, Pennsylvania. The suspects then supposedly burned the body in the backyard and dumped what was left in the Harry's U Pull It junkyard in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. The two other men are being sought in the murder as well, but they haven't been publicly identified. McEntire and all the suspects in his presumed murder were heavy drug users. Police stated the case broke after an informant who allegedly witnessed the crime came forward. They believe McEntire was killed because the suspects believed he had stolen money from them. The witness and Kelly drove McEntire's van to his place of work after the murder, and the other two suspects drove them back to Kelly's home. Kelly repainted his living room and bleached his basement floor to conceal the bloodstains.
Kelly allegedly admitted to his role in the crime when he was arrested, and confirmed the police informant's details of the attack. He is awaiting trial for homicide, conspiracy, aggravated assault, abuse of corpse and tampering with evidence. McEntire's remains have never been located, but foul play is suspected in his case due to the circumstances involved.
