Details of Disappearance
On October 1, 2011, Melia's vehicle was found abandoned two miles from the Devil Dog Turnoff on Interstate 40 near Williams, Arizona. There was no sign of him at the scene, but he left a note saying, "Ran out of gas. Went to Williams. Will be back." He has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his case.
