Details of Disappearance
Moore was stationed with the 16 Infantry of the United States Army at Fort Riley, Kansas in 1956. His family resided in Barbour County, West Virginia at the time. Moore's wife received a letter from his chaplain sometime during the year. The note stated that authorities believed Moore went AWOL (Absent Without Leave) and was headed towards the Canadian border. He has never been heard from again.There has not been any activity on Moore's Social Security number since 1956. His daughter said she had proof that her father was in the Fort Riley area after his initial disappearance, but the information has never been confirmed. Moore's case remains unsolved.
