Details of Disappearance
Nichols was last seen at approximately 8:00 p.m. on September 5, 2005 at his residence in the vicinity of the 24400 block of Elm Place in Ocean Park, Washington. At 7:45 p.m., his wife had left. He told her to hurry back. While Nichols's wife was gone, sometime between 8:00 and 9:30 p.m., he put his gray and white Lhasa Apso dog, Stewart, into his truck and left. He never returned.A photograph of Stewart is posted below this case summary. The truck is described as an olive green half-ton Ford pickup truck with a white roof and Washington state license plates numbered A38275H. Neither the dog or nor the truck have been located. The couple's other dog was left behind and nothing else was missing from the Nichols residence. Nichols's wife stated her husband had behaved normally prior to his disappearance and does not have a history of leaving without telling anyone. Nichols had been laid off from his job in March 2005, but he had started a yard-care business that was doing well, and he and his wife were not having financial problems.
There has been no activity on any of Nichols's credit cards since his disappearance, but his wife stated he was accustomed to paying with cash. His case remains unsolved.
