Rodriguez was last seen leaving her family's residence on Newhouse Street in Canyon Country, California at approximately 6:30 a.m. on October 27, 2000. She was headed to work her shift at a plastics company in the Valencia Industrial Center at the time. Rodriguez never arrived at the business and has not been heard from again. Her gray Nissan Sentra was discovered abandoned later during the day.

Rodriguez's car was parked a few blocks from her family's house, but there was no sign of her at the scene. Her loved ones said it was extremely uncharacteristic of Rodriguez to leave without warning and abandon her children. Her husband stated she was not troubled about anything at the time she went missing and he cannot think of anyone who would want to harm her. Her case remains unsolved.
