Sarmiento was last seen in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 24, 2005. He is believed to have been abducted by an adult male relative and an adult female relative and taken to Honduras. Photographs and information about the two relatives are unavailable. Sarmiento's mother has applied for the child's return to her care under the terms of an international civil treaty, the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. His case remains unsolved.
