Details of Disappearance
Thornton was last seen playing in the front yard of his family's residence in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 4, 1986. He has never been heard from again. Authorities initially believed that Thornton perished in a flood near his west Pittsburgh home, but he has never been recovered. Thornton's family believes he may be alive and possibly living in the New Jersey area. This theory has not been confirmed and Thornton's case remains unsolved.
