    Details of Disappearance

Weiter disappeared from Conifer, Colorado on November 3, 1997. At the time, he was a chronic runaway who frequently lived on the streets. He and another male juvenile hitchhiked to San Francisco, California then to Hollywood, California in December 1997. Soon afterward, Weiter separated from his friend, saying he was going to go to Seattle, Washington with a homeless nineteen-year-old female named Sarah. They planned to travel by jumping trains.

Weiter was arrested in Klamath County, Oregon in 2001 and in Madison, Wisconsin on June 23, 2002. A photograph of one of his mug shots is posted above. He is believed to be still traveling by jumping trains and could be anywhere near a railroad. His case remains unsolved. Although Weiter is a legal adult now and free to live as he pleases, authorities want to verify his well-being.
